Recently making his return to his early career as a DJ, it seems like Skepta is further exploring his artistic expression, this time away from the world of music and leaning further towards visual creations, with his debut painting ‘Mama Goes To Market‘ being introduced as part of leading fine arts broker Sothebys’ Contemporary Curated art auction.

Speaking to the Financial Times about his latest venture, Skepta expressed that his boredom during the COVID-19-imposed lockdowns (which cancelled many of his shows) led to him creating the art piece in 2021, which is now the centrepiece of an 8 to 12 piece collection of artworks, curated by the Grime legend himself, which will ‘summon the energy and colours of Nigeria‘ as part of the auction listing.
