Busy week, huh? Us too. So sit back, relax, put your feet up and join us on a journey to explore all things 140bpm, with Keepin’ It Grimy’s Weekly Wrap Up, and you can see just how busy the scene has been in the past week.
Big Zuu – Variation ft. D Double E
Big Zuu teamed up with the A-list cast of D Double E, Sir Spyro, and Joker in order to gift us a bouncy banger with distinct individual flavours thrown into the instrumental from each of the two producers. Although this is the first collaboration between the two MCs, their natural chemistry is evident, as Big Zuu trades his quick flows with D Double E‘s signature ad-libs. In the same vein, the two producers have also never worked together, but the result of the Spyro and Joker co-production draws themes from both of their respective worlds, bringing us a track that will undoubtedly be regarded as a classic.
D Double E x Mo Gilligan Podcast
Mo Gilligan (also known as “Mo the Comedian“) invited Grime scene veteran D Double E to talk about his extensive career in the music industry as one of the founders of the genre. The pair take time to speak on the growing pains the Grime scene went through, the origin of D Double’s unique style, and the worldwide ripple effect that the music genre has caused, amongst many things. Showing how they viewed the birth of the scene from different sides of the stage as fan and performer, the pair’s dynamic show the cross-generational love of Grime throughout the almost 90-minute conversation.
Zero x Devilman – Casual ft. Riko Dan
Devilman makes his debut Bassline track by teaming up with UK Bass producer Zero, and the London City Warlord Riko Dan to bring us a thumping track that is more than rave-ready. Devilman brings a very “casual” flow over the hard bass tune, providing a self-assured verse and a simple hook before Riko Dan capitalises on the instrumental’s climax, riding the instrumental with a verse that also bigs himself up. With visuals uploaded to the JDZMedia channel, this release is building on the hype of the announced return of live events and will be sure to go off in the rave.

King Rah vs Jus Jammin – Narcos Freestyle War Dubs
King Rah and Jus Jammin both took to IGTV to trade sends over Rude Kid‘s ‘Narcos‘ instrumental, with the pair both devaluing the other’s abilities and questioning their skills on the mic while flinging various insults towards each other. Keepin’ It Grimy broke down some of the hardest bars and pars from the two dubs, which you can check out HERE while we anxiously await round 2.

Novelist x PREM – Seen it all before 2
Novelist teams up with fellow Brockley native PREM to bring us a chilled, silky smooth track titled “Seen it all before 2“, where the pair speak on the issues they’ve seen on the roads and the impact the lifestyle has had on them and the people around them. “Seen it all before 2” is a different side of the duo that we’ve rarely seen before, showing their versatility as they glide over the easygoing, almost hypnotic guitar riff.

The 15-track project has Genesis Elijah venture through Grime, Drill, Garage and more, including features from Manga Saint Hilare, Riko Dan, Snowy Danger, and Jammz to only name a few! Under the new moniker GHS, GHSTLYXVII has dropped a vibesy new joint titled “Calling Me“, with the MC trading his usual rapid flows and macho bars for an entirely different energy, with the trap-inspired track letting us know that GHS is all about stacking his p’s, with the video showing the ‘3310‘ vocalist dressed to flex while “the money” keeps calling.

Izzie Gibbs – Nike Tech
Northampton‘s very own Izzie Gibbs has been insanely active in 2021 and has now brought us a drill-inspired single titled ‘Nike Tech‘, with the MC bringing his classic Grimy flow over the K1 x Trelli co-produced instrumental, while the video (created by ReadTheTitle) has the young star in a very carefree state, drifting around on dirtbikes and off-road trucks.
Rawza – Alie
Carrying on his recent trend of collaborations with producer Young Chencs, Rawza has gifted us with ‘Alie’, a summery, upbeat bop that the MC has uploaded, along with Phase3Media created visuals, onto his own YouTube channel. The track has Rawza bigging himself up throughout, showing he knows his worth with bars such as “I just want racks and respect on my name, it’s what I’m worth plus tax when you pay”
NamesBliss – Strikers
NamesBliss explores his upbringing by bringing his signature wordplay and storytelling abilities over the Drill-enthused ZCBeats production to release ‘Strikers‘. The man who gave us ‘Style and Grace‘ explores the harsh realities of road life and speaks on his growth and maturity after once being regarded as nothing more than a violent youth.
Jakebob – Searing Pain/Get Me
Jakebob has gifted us with a brand new release, consisting of two instrumental tracks titled ‘Searing Pain‘ and ‘Get Me‘. ‘Searing Pain‘ provides a much more relaxed, wobbly bassline, while ‘Get Me‘ brings us a darker and deeper sound, with both instrumentals guaranteed to get you bopping along and imagining your favourite MCs gliding over the hard instrumentals.

Miz – Running Video
Miz has hit the ground running (…sorry) in 2021 with her first solo release ‘Running‘ dropping earlier in the month, and she’s now released visuals to go with it. The video (shot and edited by Brand590_) has Miz walking through her estate, personifying the struggle Miz speaks on in her bars. To read Miz’s motivations behind ‘Running‘, CLICK HERE.
