Hi! I’m Lozzy C, and I curate Wheel Up Wednesdays for Keepin It Grimy. I round up my favourite radio sets from the past 7 days, showcasing the best instrumentals, blends, and mixes from the wizards behind the decks, and delving into all aspects of Grime, 140, garage, and more.
29th April marked Oblig’s last Friday show on Rinse FM, and he closed it out with a mouth watering line up of guests. For the second hour of the show, he went B2B with Oneman with Riko Dan, Scrufizzer and Brazil’s own SD9 gracing the microphone. Some heavy-weight veterans bouncing off a relative new-comer in SD9, it’s so fun to listen to the energy build over the set. Oblig’s not done with Rinse, though! You can now catch him on there every Tuesday 7-8PM.
SD9 has had a busy radio schedule since he landed in London. He joined Trends for his Pyro Radio show, where the Meanstreets owner went B2B with J Beatz. Jammz and Duppy were the other MCs on the set, with all three MCs flowing very nicely over some heavy hitting riddims. It’s always exciting listening to producers as active as J Beatz and Trends DJ, because you know you’re going to hear plenty on unreleased, exclusive goodness. This set has all of that and more. Enjoy!
Mode’s latest upload to their YouTube channel is a very special “Technical Mix” from Spooky Bizzle. If there ever was a lesson in how to mix grime, this is it. Spooky chops and blends his way through edits, his own original productions and old school tunes. A masterclass… and it’s free… what more could you possibly want?
Back to Rinse. I don’t know what it is about Izco’s selection, but I feel like I can listen to it in any situation; whether I’m trying to relax or turn up. For his hour-long show, he effortlessly mixes through 2-Step, Grime and Jungle. It’s an absolute pleasure to listen to.
Last, but definitely not least, we have an hour of Breaks, Grime and club tunes from Freshta on Foundation FM. This is a bit of a stomper, still.
Oh! And a massive congratulations on the Rinse residency, Freshta!
